Article 41
Athlete Creator and NIL Agency
Article 41 provides its several thousand athletes with full-service management, deal sourcing, athlete education, content development, and broader NIL work. Its differentiated model extends beyond student-athletes to Olympic and professional athletes across emerging sports, with a focus on helping brands build their own sports media ecosystems and IP. “Bringing Article 41 into Ogilvy and WPP accelerates our vision for how sports, culture and creator-driven marketing converge,” said Segar. “There is a huge opportunity to strengthen that capability where talent ecosystems intersect with global sports platforms, creating real value for athletes, rights holders, brands, and fans.”
The investment marks a significant bet by Ogilvy Global CEO Laurent Ezekiel on sports and entertainment as a core driver of the agency’s future growth, giving Ogilvy immediate access to an athlete network it did not previously have while providing Article 41 with expanded reach into brand opportunities across Ogilvy’s global client roster. As part of the transaction, Vickie Segar will assume the newly created role of Global Chief Sports and Entertainment Officer at Ogilvy – leading and growing the agency’s Sports & Entertainment practice across the rightsholder and sponsor ecosystem.
We’ve now worked with Pharus twice – and that says everything. In a world of advisors who are focused on the transaction, Pharus has always felt like something different: a genuine long-term partner who invests in understanding not just your business, but where you want to go. They have an extraordinary ability to simplify what feels complex, and to be the steady, strategic hand you can rely on when the stakes are highest.
